NEW DELHI: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday expressed “condolences” over the plane crash that killed Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Recalling Prigozhin, who had staged a short-lived mutiny against Putin, the Russian President said he was a “talented man who made mistakes”.

Putin added in televised comments that it was necessary to await the outcome of the official investigation into the crash, in which all 10 people on board were killed, saying the examination would take some time.

Putin added that the Wagner crash victims made “significant contribution” during the war in Ukraine.
The remarks come amid strong speculation that Prigozhin was “assassinated” by Russian forces due to his coup that dented Putin’s reputation.
